Abstract:
The prolonged Israel-Palestine conflict has triggered various global responses, including the boycott
movement of pro-Israel products. This research aims to analyze the Qur'anic perspective on pro-Israel
product boycott actions through an examination of MUI Fatwa Number 83 of 2023 using Waṣfī
'Āsyūr Abū Zayd's maqāṣidī interpretation method. This research employs a qualitative approach
based on library research with primary sources consisting of Qur'anic verses, interpretation books,
and MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023. The analysis was conducted using three main methods of maqāṣidī
interpretation: textual, inductive, and conclusive. The research findings show that the pro-Israel
product boycott action aligns with five specific objectives of the Qur'an: (1) protecting and preserving
the natural environment, (2) preserving human life, (3) resisting colonization and expulsion, (4)
implementing mutual assistance among people, and (5) a form of jihad through wealth and soul. In
the Indonesian context, the implementation of boycott actions needs to consider individual
capabilities and their impact on workers in pro-Israel affiliated companies.
